Matti, Friday 27 March 2009 - 20:46:54 // comment: 0
Suomedia are proud to announce the impending public release of our new core ecommerce engine which we have dubbed "Suocommerce".
Suocommerce is a fork of the popular osCommerce Online Merchant and came about due to our own needs for a more up to date and powerful solution. We have been using and continuing development of this new platform since January 2008 and now wish to make our work available and a new open source (GPL) project. A number of our client websites are already powered by this solution.
Out of the box, Suocommerce will feature:
While this is essentially a complete rewrite of the osCommerce platform, it retains a familiarity that existing osCommerce developers will appreciate. Existing osCommerce contributions are easily ported over to the new platform.
Suomedia will be opening a new website dedicated to the project, including online support forums, SVN server and bug tracker.
